The Diodes Incorporated AL8116 flexible 0-10V dimmer signal interface controller supports the conversion of three different dimmer inputs. These include linear dimming of 0V DC to 10V DC, 0% to 100% duty cycle PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signals, and simple resistance potentiometers connected to output PWM signals. The AL8116 controller has a wide input voltage range of 10V to 56V and provides isolated dimming control for the primary side LED driver via an optocoupler.
The AL8116 flexible controller provides DIM pin output for adjustable precise bias currents, ideal for active and passive 0V to 10V dimmers or potentiometers. Diodes Inc. AL8116 0-10V flexible dimming signal interface controller output duty cycle accuracy is ±2.5% (typical value), the minimum output duty cycle can be set via CLAMP pin resistors. The AL8116 has various protection features, such as internal, automatic recovery, and overheat protection.
